The regular season is winding down and the playoffs will soon be upon us. After that, the off-season begins and it will be time for free agents to sop new teams and vice versa. Here is a list of some of the top free agents going into this off-season.

Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers– The game’s best point guard might be Chris Paul. If not, he is certainly in the discussion. This will make him a very highly prized free agent. It would be a shock if the Clippers let him get away, but the Clippers have done stranger things in the past. But we would expect to see Paul back in Los Angeles for the near future.

Brandon Jennings, Milwaukee Bucks-  With Monta Ellis getting minutes at point guard, look for Jennings to move on. Good point guards are a hot commodity, so there will be many who will be interested in his services. Look for the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, and perhaps the Kings/Sonics to be in the running.

Tyreke Evans, Sacramento Kings– Jennings may be in the running because Evans may be on the way out. The Chicago Bulls were supposed to be interested in acquiring his services as were the Boston Celtics. Both have injured point guards in Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo. But they will be back at some point and where would that leave Evans? The Hornets/Pelicans have never really replaced Chris Paul, so maybe they would be interested.

Kyle Lowry, Toronto Raptors– Yet another point guard, it would be nice to see the Raptors retain him. They could be the up and coming team next season with Rudy Gay getting a full season with them.

Andre Iguodala, Denver Nuggets- Hopefully he will remain a Denver Nugget after the year because they have something going on in the Mile High City.

Monta Ellis, Milwaukee Bucks- Ellis will likely stay a Buck, at the expense of Jennings. Ellis can play both shooting guard and point guard so the Bucks can afford to spend big money on him.

Manu Ginobli, San Antonio Spurs- It is hard to imagine the Spurs and Ginobli parting ways until he retires. Look for them to work out a one or two year deal.

O. J. Mayo, Dallas Mavericks- The Mavericks could part ways with Mayo. They need to re-tool. They have really dropped off the NBA map in the past two seasons. Many teams would be interested in Mayo. The Orlando Magic will have to get back in the spending games soon. This might be a good place to start.
