Jazz Beat Thunder in Preseason Action
Mo Williams had a good return to Utah in his first home back with the Jazz, scoring 15 points in 23 minutes to lead the Utah Jazz over the Oklahoma City Thunder 97-81 in NBA preseason action. Gordon Hayward added 13 points and Enes Kanter had 12 for the Jazz.
”It wasn’t odd at all,” Mo Williams said of playing for the Jazz again at home. ”It felt really good. It’s the same people that were here when I was here.”
The Houston Rockets smacked the New Orleans Hornets 95-75 behind Kevin Martin‘s 17 points and Donatas Montiejunas 13 points. Toney Douglas added 11 points while Chandler Parsons and Patrick Patterson had 10 points each.
The Toronto Raptors topped the Detroit Pistons 92-85. DeMar DeRozan scored 14 points to lead the Raptors. Ed Davis chipped in 12 points and rookie Jonas Valanciunas added 11.
The Phoenix Suns beat the Portland Trail Blazers 104-93 as Markief Morris scored 14 points for the Suns. Wesley Johnson, Shannon Brown and Luis Scola had 12 points each and Michael Beasley had 10 for the winning Suns.
The Denver Nuggets beat the San Antonio Spurs 97-91. Corey Brewer led the Nuggets with 24 points, Danilo Galinari had 19 points, Andre Iguodala had 11 and Javale McGee had 10 for the Nuggets. Tim Duncan had 21 points in 25 minutes for the Spurs.
The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Chicago Bulls 86-83. Dion Waiters had 18 points to lead Cleveland. Rookie Ty Zeller added 10 points. Kirk Hinrich led the Bulls with 14 points.
The Indiana Pacers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 96-91 behind the 19 point effort of Paul George. Gerald Green scored 18 points while Ben Hansbrough added 10 for the Pacers. Derrick Williams led the Timberwolves with 25 points.
