Lebron, Miami Heat Smacks OKC Thunder 110-100

The Miami Heat are still the best team in the NBA. Don’t worry about what the records are. It doesn’t matter. The Heat will win the championship again this year.

How do we know this? Because Miami can beat the best at home or on the road. They are not going to expend a lot of energy worrying about getting the home court advantage when they don’t need it. They’ve now beaten the best team in the Western Conference six straight times. Tonight the Heat ran away and hid from the Oklahoma City Thunder for most of the night. The final score was 110-100 but it was not really that close.

Lebron James was his usual outstanding self with 39 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists as he caught fire right from the start as they got out to a 32-17 first quarter lead. Meanwhile the Thunder’s Kevin Durant had a terrible sart making four of his first 14 shots from the field. Durant ended the night with 40 points, but much of them were in the fourth quarter after the game was pretty well decided.

Chris Bosh added 20 points and 12 rebounds for the defending champs as they ran their record to 35-14 and now have a 3.5 game lead on the New York Knicks for the top spot in the East.

In the West, the San Antonio Spurs hold the top spot with a 42-12 record as the Thunder fell to 39-13. If the Heat and Thunder meet in The Finals gain, as most think they will, the Heat knows they can win in OKC. The Thunder will probably have doubts about whether they can beat the Heat anywhere after six straight losses.

The Spurs are probably too old to get past the Thunder in the Western Conference Finals should they meet. They went down in six games last year even after getting a 2-0 lead. What we are witnessing now is the beginning of the “Lebron Era”. Most fans could see it coming when at a young age he brought the Cleveland Cavaliers past the World Champion Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals practically single-handedly. He got tired up coming up just short in Cleveland so he left for South Florida. The way he is playing now for Miami it doesn’t look like he needs help.

The rest of the league can probably forget about this year. Miami is going to take it unless Lebron gets hurt. Right now it looks like he cannot be guarded. He shoots the threes like a guard. He dishes like a point guard. And he can back most guys down and get whatever he wants down low.It will require a double team to stop him which will leave single men on Bosh and Dwayne Wade. You have to like the Heat’s odds in those match-ups too.
