Conference Semifinals: Who Will Advance?

All four of the conference semifinal series are tied at 1-1 after the Miami Heat routed the Chicago Bulls and the Golden State Warriors beat the San Antonio Spurs last night. So now, home court advantage swings to the underdogs for the next two games. So let’s look at the series and who will win, or at least who we think we will win.

New York at Indiana- The Knicks went on a 30-2 run in the fourth quarter in Game Two. The Pacers will now host the next two games. The big question mark in the remainder of the series is whether J.R. Smith can get cranked back up after his suspension in the first round. If he he gets back his shooting touch, the Knicks will be tough to beat as they clearly have the advantage in the back court.

The Knicks need to get one of the two games in Indiana. We believe they will and might even get both of them. We like New York to win the series.

Miami at Chicago- We hate to count the Bulls out, because just when they get blown out and we thing they are done, they come back with a big win. Being hammered does not seem to phase them. They will come back in Game Three with a big game. The Heat had better be ready for a fight. We think they will. Miami will get at least one of the next two games and maybe even both. We like the Heat in five.

San Antonio at Golden State- Stephen Curry is becoming a star before our eyes. He is having an awesome playoff run so far and now the Warriors are headed back home. The Spurs were very lucky not to be going to Oakland down 2-0. We think Curry will go off and Andrew Bogut will play well too. We like the Warriors to win both games in Oakland and win the series.

Oklahoma City at Memphis- This series has been a great one so far. Both games have gone down to the wire. Mike Conley is having a break-out series and if not for Steph Curry, he would be the biggest story of these playoffs. Perhaps those two will meet in the conference finals. Kevin Durant has to take over for the Thunder to overcome the loss of Russell Westbrook. We think the two teams split in Memphis and the winner of Game Five goes on to win the series. Only that winner will be the Grizzlies.
