Timberwolves Top Pacers in Wednesday Preseason Hoops

The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Indiana Pacers 84-70 in NBA action on Wednesday. The T-Wolves are expected to be much improved this season. They got great contributions from newly acquired Chase Budinger and Nikola Pekovich who each scored 14 points to lead them to the win. Kevin Love scored 12 points and Brandon Roy had 13.

The Detroit Pistons beat the Toronto Raptors 101-99. Andre Drummond got the game winner on an offensive rebound and putback off a miss by Will Bynum. Greg Munroe had 17 points for the Pistons while Brandon Knight added 14 points.

The Sacramento Kings beat the  Phoenix Suns 102-96. Demarcus Cousins had 21 points and nine rebounds for Sacramento. Jimmer Fredette hit a couple of free throws and a three pointers at crunch time. Wesley Johnson had 18 points and Markeif Morris had 16 for Phoenix. Rookie Thomas Robinson had 12 points for the Kings.

The Houston Rockets beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 107-105. Rookie Terrance Jones scored 20 points, wile Jeremy Lin made his Rockets debut, playing 20 minutes and scoring three points. Russell Westbrook had 19 points and Kevin Durant had 13 for the Thunder.

The San Antonio Spurs beat the Atlanta Hawks 101-99. Nando de Colo hit a three pointer with .6 seconds left to win it for the Spurs. Josh Powell scored 14 points and Gary Neal added nine for the Spurs. Damion James and Mike Scott led the Hawks, each with 11 points.

The Portland Trail Blazers handed the Los Angeles Lakers their second loss of the preseason 93-75. Neither Kobe Bryant nor Dwight Howard played in the game.  Steve Nash scored 13 points while Ron Artest added 12.
