NBA Preseason Results 10-24

There were seven games on the Wednesday night schedule in the NBA. NBA TV televised a couple of them, first they had the Houston Rockets at the New OrleansĀ  Hornets, followed the the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers from Staples Center. So if baseball is not your sport, you can catch some NBA action on the tube.

The New York Knicks beat the Brooklyn Nets 97-95 in overtime. The win may have been costly for the Knicks who are already without Amare Stoudamire. Tyson Chandler left the game with an injury to his left knee. Steve Novak hit two three-pointers in the overtime including the go ahead shot with just over a minute left. These two teams will meet in the season opener on Nov 1st in the Nets home opener in their new arena in Brooklyn.

The Rockets beat the Hornets 97-90 in New Orleans. Carlos Delfino scored 20 points to lead the Rockets. Chandler Parsons also had 18 points, Kevin Martin and Terrance Jones had 15 for the Rockets. Ryan Anderson led the Hornets with 23 points including five three-pointers. Rookie Anthony Davis had 13 points and eight rebounds for New Orleans.

The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Detroit Pistons 95-76. Chase Budinger led the Wolves with 21 points. Derrick Williams added 18 points and Nikola Pekovic had 14 points. Rodney Stuckey had 21 points.

The Clippers kept the Lakers winless in the preseason with a 97-91 win. Eric Bledsoe scored 22 points and ii assists and had nine steals in the game for the Clippers. Bledsoe played 43 minutes while Chris Paul sat out the contest. ”Just having fun,” Bledsoe said, recalling his only triple-double came in high school. ”I thought I was going to be a little winded, but I wasn’t.” Steve Nash had seven assists for the Lakers and Pau Gasol led them with 17 points. Matt Barnes scored 18 points and Blake Griffin added 15 for the Clippers.

The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Dallas Mavericks 88-76. Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 18 points and James Harden added 16 points. Jae Crowder led the Mavs with 21 points. The Mavs were playing without the injured Dirk Nowitzki. Shawn Marion and Vince Carter were also given the night off.

The Memphis Grizzlies beat the Orlando Magic 115-100. Rudy Gay led the Grizzlies with 20 points, Wayne Ellington had 13 points and Mike Conley had 12 for Memphis also. . J.J Redick led the Magic with 23 points.

The Washington Wizards beat the Miami Heat 101-94. Martel Webster led the Wizards with 23 points. Dwayne Wade led the Heat with 23 points and Chris Bosh had 18 points.. Lebron James had the night off.
