If you get a bit antsy when the season is about to start and you wish it would hurry up already, check this out: vault.ncaa.com. Here you can watch NCAA Tournament games from your favorite schools, with no commercial breaks. This site is fantastic! You want to watch Duke? Just click on the “by teams” and you have games dating all the way back to 1986. You want the 1992 game against Kentucky? It’s there!

Or maybe you want to watch a particular year when one of your favorite teams made a run? Click on “by years” and there you can go back to 1976. You want to watch the Bird vs. Magic game from ’79? It’s on there. You want to watch the North Carolina vs. Indiana game from 1981 played on the day President Reagan was shot? It’s there.

You can click on “national Championships” and watch every game dating back to 1982. You can also watch the ’79 game of course and even the 1977 Marquette win over North Carolina with Coach Al McGuire before he moved into the broadcast booth.

If you are a young fan and you heard about many of these games, now you can go watch them. Or if like me, you missed a lot of these games because you were working or otherwise occupied, you can now go back and see what you missed. In my case, I listened to a lot of these games on the radio while at work, but never saw them. Now I can go back and watch them.

My favorite team, the University of Florida, played in the 2000 Final Four. I had never seen the semi-final game against North Carolina. I was searching anywhere I could buy this game on DVD. Then I discovered this site and guess what? It’s on here. No need to buy it now. I can watch it free! WOOHOO!!

With no NBA this year, I suspect there will be a few nights I will put this site to good use. I used to work a lot of nights back in the day and missed a lot of these games. 1997 Kentucky Arizona is one I still haven’t watched. 1999 Duke and UConn was another I missed. And I have to watch that Christian Laettner game again! That was one of the greatest games ever played. That was the college basketball equivalent of Game 6 of the 1975 World Series. And of course, I have to go back and watch some of those Florida games from 2006 and 2007.

This is a great site to visit on a rainy day with nothing to do. You can sit back and watch Michael Jordan and North Carolina take on Pat Ewing and Georgetown in the 1982 Championship Game or the classic David vs. Goliath Villanova win over Georgetown in 1985. And every sports fan…strike that…human being should watch the 1983 Championship Game where Jim Valvano and the NC State Wolfpack beat Houston on a miracle put back of an air ball that gave Coach V his biggest moment up until his famous Espy Speech. Now if you will excuse me, I am going to go watch another basketball game…Let’s see…how about Gonzaga and UCLA in 2006? That was a good one.
