Joakim Noah had a triple double with 11 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists and Luol Deng and Carlos Boozer each had 21 points to lead he Chicago Bulls past the Boston Celtics 100-89. Nate Robinson also chipped in 18 points as the Bulls improved their record to 14-10. Boston, who was led by Rajon Rondo with 26 points, fell to 12-12.
The Bulls bounced back from a loss the previous night in which they scored only 71 points, their worst offensive game in five seasons. They are 4-2 now in the second game of back to back nights. The Celtics have now lost three straight for the first time this season.
The Atlanta Hawks beat the Washington Wizards 100-95 in overtime. Lou Williams led the Hawks with 24 points and Josh Smith added 17 points and 13 rebounds as they improved their record to 15-7. Washington fell to 3-19. Amazingly, only four of Washington’s losses have been by 10 or more points. Jordan Crawford led the Wizards with a triple double. He had 27 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.
The Miami Heat beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 103-92. Dwayne Wade led the Heat with 24 points and Lebron James scored 22 as the Heat won despite being destroyed on the boards. The Timberwolves out-rebounded the Heat by a whopping 28 rebounds, yet still managed to lose. The Heat is now 16-6 on the season while the Timberwolves dropped to 12-10. The margin was the largest a losing team has out-rebounded a team since 1994.
The Utah Jazz beat the Brooklyn Nets 92-90. Five Jazz players finished in double figures, led by Mo Williams with 19 points as the Jazz survived two late turnovers to hang on to the win. The Nets had a chance to tie the game at the end after stealing their second inbounds pass in the last 30 seconds of the game, but missed two shots. The Jazz improved to 14-12 while Brooklyn fell to 13-11.
The Los Angeles Lakers fought back from an 18 point third quarter deficit to hand the Charlotte Bobcats their 12th straight loss. Kobe Bryant scored four of his 30 points in the last minute and a half to lead the Lakers to a 101-100 win. Jodie Meeks and Ron Artest also had 17 each. The Bobcats led 78-60 halfway through the third quarter after starting the second half on a 20-7 run. But the Lakers answered that with a run of their own, 17-6 to close out the quarter. The Lakers have won three in a row to improve to 12-14. Charlotte is now 7-17.
The Golden State Warriors beat the New Orleans Hornets 103-96. David Lee led the Warriors with 26 points and nine rebounds while Klay Thompson added 19 points. The Warriors improved to 17-8 while the Hornets fell to 5-19.
